He Shoots, He Scores .... Again.

The big bad bears were playing the orcas and they were ready for their first win of the season. They were doing very well with the help of number 3, he helped them with solid defense and another 2 points.
Despite the effort, the Bears lost to the Orcas in the last quarter. The doughnuts JJ brought for snack helped them to quickly forget about the defeat.

Snow Day = Dentist

We had a snow day today, but still had to go to the dentist appointment. This was the kids second time seeing the dentist. Our appointments were bright and early at 8 am. As you can tell the kids were excited.
They actually were. James was very excited to show the dentist his missing teeth as well as his new teeth. Both kids sat in the chairs and were ready for action.
As the dentist was checking JJ's teeth he let James know that he now has 5 man teeth so he must be a man!!!  JJ got a kick out of that. Both kids had great checkups and no cavities! Yeah!  Reese wanted to make sure I got a picture of her super clean teeth. They both told me that the dentist is fun. Let's hope that they always feel that way.

Moving on up!

Reese had her first gymnastics class tonight at For the Kidz. Reese has been talking about taking gymnastics for over a month and once we signed her up that was all she could talk about for an entire week. Reese looked like a natural and was so excited doing all of her station work. On the first circuit Reese was suppose to do a somersault on the wedge, but chose to do a cartwheel instead. After her first pass through, the teacher pulled Reese off to the side and asked to see her cartwheel. She then pulled over the other teacher to have Reese show her the cartwheel. At the end of class the teacher came up to me and told me that if I wanted, Reese can move up to the advanced preschool class since she already knows how to do a cartwheel. Reese absolutely loved gymnastics and asked if she could go everyday. We love our little gymnast.

He shoots....He scores

James had his first basketball game for the 2016 season. His team is the Big Bad Bears. They played well, but lost by 2 points to their opponent. JJ did a great job as he scored his first points ever in a game. JJ also got the only assist of the game within the last 20 seconds of the game. We love our #3

Year in review (2015)

Looking at our year in reverse.
JJ lost his first tooth and then lost his second within days of loosing his first. All he wanted for Christmas was his two front teeth. (November 26, 2015)
The family was in the Santa parade this year helping out with the Consumer's energy float. (November 21, 2015)
Both kids played soccer this year and did great. Reese's highest score was 9 goals in one game and JJ scored 7 in one game.

James learned how to ride his bike without training wheels.

Reese started 4yr old preschool with Mrs. Robin and JJ started Kindergarten in Mrs. Tape's class.
What a great year!!!

Pokemon world

The kids let us sleep in today and then presented their Pokemon world to us. Complete with skyscrapers, roads, and lakes that house the aquatic Pokemon. Such imagination.

Gingerbread men

Today we spent some time as a family and created our gingerbread men. They turned out pretty great!!

A Brand New Year

We say goodbye to 2015 and welcome a new year, 2016. There have been many new and fun things that we have done as a family and we're looking forward to many more in the year to come. As we celebrated Christmas with the family we were reminded that it's not about the presents, but about spending time together as a family. We tried to instill this in our kids, but sometimes it was forgotten. However, Something must have sunk in as JJ wanted to sing happy birthday to Jesus on Christmas. He told me that we forgot to sing, but he let Mimi know and they sing together. As he said his prayers at night he apologized to God for not singing to Jesus. Too cute.
