Painted nails

We painted Reese's fingernails for the first time tonight. She was so good. She even let me do her toes too.

Tonight after we were done saying our prayers, JJ wanted to make sure that he prayed for Mimi, Papa, and Grandma Abbott. I told him that he could pray, so he began, "Dear God.......Mimi, Papa, Grandma Abbott Amen." I told him that he did a great job. He immediately stopped me and said, "Dear God; Daddy, Mommy, Reese, Slyder, My House, My School, Zach, Amen!" He was then ready to go to bed. I guess he said all he needed to say.

He Did It

Well for the first time JJ went number 1 in the toilet. After a few times with him trying to go number 2 he only had to be told once to go number 1 and he did it. We were all so proud of him. He did it all on his own.

First Teacher Letter

Today JJ got his first teacher letter in the mail. Mrs. Bethany VandenBrand will be his teacher for 2012-2013. He was so excited.

Tough run...great memories

Extremely difficult run today with the kids. Part way through as I was struggling JJ kept shouting, "faster momma!". I said I can't and his reply was "why" TO EVERYTHING I said. At the end I told them that was a tough run. Again JJ asked why and I responded, "I think you guys gained some weight." JJ... "sorry momma.". Too cute.

Harbor Days

We're up at the cottage for a family vacation to enjoy Harbor Dats in Elk Rapids. We have done so many fun things together already. JJ has fished, both kids drove the boat, we've gone swimming a few times, ate at Boones, and went on some carnival rides. Tomorrow is diaper derby so I will update the blog tomorrow with results.

Going Fishing

JJ and Reese decided to take a little break and go fishing in the pool. They wanted to try out their new fishing poles. We later enjoyed their catch and cooked it for dinner.

Cute Things Kids Do

JJ says "top" instead of Stop and he holds his hand up at the same time.
JJ calls Slyder "Wa Wa"
JJ will pat where he wants you to sit, play, color, everything!
JJ roars at everything
I think that Reese's favorite show is Little Einstein's too. The huge smile on her face says it all.
James will roar like a lion and Reese loves every minute of it.
When we ask JJ how old he is he says two and holds up one finger on each hand.
Reese loves to play with the air register.
When we give JJ his multivitamin he does a drum roll until he finds out the color he gets for the day.
When we pray I tell JJ to close his eyes and he squints and smiles.
When brushing his teeth JJ likes to put his toothbrush under the water repeatedly and then suck on it.
When Reese is sleeping she moves her mouth as if she is sucking on a pacifier.
Whenever JJ gets excited he says, oooo and his little mouth is wide open and he sticks his belly out.
JJ's cheesy smile whenever I ask him to smile while taking his photo.
At 3 months old Reese will coo back and blow bubbles at you.

While watching Little Einstein's, JJ will pat and sing along with it.
Anytime Reese spits up JJ will say, "uh oh" and grab a burp cloth.
He would eat just ketchup if we let him.
When I leave and go out through the back door, JJ will go up to the window and give me a kiss through the glass. I'm of course on the other side giving him a kiss right back.
When I put JJ to bed he always reaches his little hand out beneath the bumper and he waits for me to reach for it.
JJ has to play his Thomas The Train toothbrush in order to brush his teeth.
While changing Reese's diaper JJ took it upon himself to take the dirty clothes and make sure they made it into the hamper. He then brushed his hands together as if saying, there, all better.
JJ has some slow dance moves. He moves his arms as if dancing the waltz.
JJ's "bubba dance" at bed time. He also goes directly to the fridge gets out the milk and tries to carry it over to the counter.
James picks out his pj's every night then proceeds to run away from you so you chase him
