Kisses

Reese is now frequently giving kisses. Although most of them are open mouth she did give Jim a kiss yesterday with her mouth closed and said mmmm.

Our Sunday Outing

We left early this Sunday morning ( due to paint fumes) and went out to breakfast. The kids did amazingly well and it was so crazy to think that the last time we ate at Fortune Chef that Reese wasn't even born yet. The Abbott family ate all of their food and headed off to our first stop to see Nana on our Sunday tour. Nana was great and she was amazed how well Reese could walk. JJ sang her a song and we hung out. Then we traveled on to grandma Fodor's. She was doing well and had some cookies for JJ and Reese. As James was looking around the room he noticed a cross with baby (Jesus), Mary and Joseph. He pointed to it and said, "mom, mom, look baby mama, and baby, and boy (Joseph)." I told him you're right JJ that is baby Jesus and his mommy and daddy. He replied,"yeah.". What a great day.

Our Little Picasso

We decided to paint today to make decorations for Reese's first birthday party. James was really enjoying himself and was doing a great job. He even wanted to get out the glitter pens. I especially love his new paint shirt that we found today.

You Have Got Mail

JJ and Reese opened their mail today to find a card from Mimi and Papa. They were more excited about the stickers than the money?!?!?!? JJ was more than happy to share his contents of his card too. I'm sure it won't always be like, but it sure was cute.

No Snow No Frosty??

Since we don't have any snow we had to use the next best thing to help us make Frosty! Oh Frosty how we miss you.

First Sip

Reese is now drinking out of a sippy cup. We've been working on it, but now she's got the hang of it. Just in time for the super bowl!!

Little Houdini

Today JJ was acting unfavorably when Jim told him to go to his room. As JJ was in his room he proceeded to lock the door. Jim was talking on the phone to me about what was going on, saying how he needed to find a paper clip to unlock it. Just then JJ came in and said I'm out! To think that Jim didn't believe me when I told him that JJ locked me out of the house a couple of weeks ago after taking Slyder to go to the bathroom.

A Night of Firsts

Reese was all set for her first big girl ride in the her new car seat. We were on our way to Costco, just the three of us.  It was going to be my first attempt at shopping without Reese being in a carrier.  The night was going well.  We picked up Reese's first birthday invitations, JJ was enjoying his samples, and Reese was enjoying the opportunity to sit next to her brother up where the "big kids" sit.  Everything was going well until we got outside.  When we got to the car I told JJ that I was going to put Reese in first.  As I was trying to unbuckle her it would not budge.  I couldn't get her out.  I tried for 2 minutes.  JJ was yelling that he wanted to go in the car and Reese refused to keep her hat on in the cold weather.  So I did the only thing that I could think of...... I took out my Swiss Army knife and I cut the strap that was keeping her in.  First time I ever did that.  Other than that, it was a great night!  Sorry Costco. =-(
