I want to be....
On the way to Buffalo Wild Wings JJ spotted a man in a chicken suit holding a sign. He was asking all sorts of questions about him. He then wanted to go and hug the man. We said no. Later in the restaurant he asked me, "mom, what's that thing that you dress up?" I replied that it was Halloween. He said, " yeah, I want to be a chicken holding a sign for Halloween." Too funny.
That is unacceptable.

I'm so proud...
Tonight while putting JJ to bed he told me, "I so proud of you mom." When I asked him why he responded, "cause you the bestest girl ever." I love that boy and his sweet heart.
We finally have ARTWORK!!!
After getting JJ from his class we went to check out Reese's cubby to see if she had any paper to bring home. At that same time her teacher came in and told us that she made something and went to go get it. It was a fish bowl with goldfish crackers on it. When I saw the 3 goldfish crackers I was thrilled that she had finally completed a craft and did not eat it. When I made this known to her teacher, she replied that in fact there were way more goldfish and that she did eat quite a few. She pointed out the glue spots left on the paper. Oh well, at least she had some left. Once I picked her up from recess she ran to me and said, "I made that for you mom. I love you, and I miss you all day. Look, (holding up the paper), I made that for you mom!" She was so proud.

What's Wrong Baby?
Tonight at dinner JJ was sitting across from Reese and he started to whine and almost crying(for the third time tonight). I had been talking to him about it all night when finally Reese says from across the table, "what's wrong little baby?" JJ replied, "I'm not a baby!" He almost got upset until he saw me laughing historically at Reese's comment. We all began to laugh and the only tears that were seen after that were mine (from laughter).
What's your favorite part of the day?
Every day during dinner we ask each other, what's your favorite part of the day? Well, this was mine. Tonight after saying our prayers I always ask for a big hug. Tonight JJ told me he was going to give me a super hug. He hugged me with all of his might and said, "I'm never going to let you go mom. You're going to stay here with me because I love you more than all the houses." That was my favorite part of the day.
She's a growing girl
I picked JJ up from school first today and he was still more interested in the puzzle he was working on than the fact that his mom, who missed him all day, was there to pick him up. We looked in his box for papers and packed up his backpack. We then raced down to the gym where Reese's class was. As always, when I spotted Reese she was sitting on e teachers lap. I said, "hi Reese!" And her eyes lit up. She jumped down off her teachers lap and ran to give me a hug. She told me, "I missed you so much mom, I need you." The teacher then told me that around 5 Reese starts to ask for food and her mom. She told me that they made a craft today, a fruit loop necklace. Reese was apparently super hungry as she ate her entire necklace. They then let her make another necklace which she also ate. The teacher just laughed it off and said, "it's ok though, she's a growing girl." When I asked Reese about her necklace she asked me if I wanted to see it as she tapped her belly. I told her that it looked really pretty. She held my hand and said, "I love you so much mom!" This way my favorite part of the day.
My Tummy's Rumblin!
The first day of school was a complete success. There were no tears and actually a rush to get into the classrooms. Jim had dropped them off at school and I pick them up. As I approached JJ's class he was busy reading a book in the library. Too busy to acknowledge his mother, thus the teacher was unsure that I was his mother and asked to see some identification of which I had left in the car :-(. After I retrieved my license I gave a hug to a reluctant child and we went off to find his locker. He was telling me about the day as we set out for his sister who was on the playground. When we spotted Reese she was sitting on the teachers lap. The teacher informed me that it took them 20 minutes to figure out that Reese was saying, "my Tummy's Rumblin!" They proceeded to tell me that Reese is a very hungry little girl (like I don't already know). They said that they gave her three snacks and her tummy was still rumblin. That's my girl! On the way home I asked them about their day but all Reese could say is, "I want a lunch able!" Over and over and over. By the time we got home she was in full meltdown and started to cry for her daddy saying that she didn't like school. I mean who would like school when they only give you 3 snacks:-).
School Here We Come
JJ and Reese are both so excited to begin school this year. JJ, will be starting 4 year old preschool and Reese will be going to school "daycare" for the first time. They are both super excited and have tried on their backpacks to make sure they fit!
